Kempten im Allgäu
The Ausserfernbahn connects the Austrian Ausserfern with Deutschland. This is the region which is only accessible from the inner Austria through alpine passes (altitudes: 1209, 1903 og 1541 m). The other way leads through Germany. This railway line follows the latter way.
The line begins in Kempten im Allgäu (Germany), where it joins with the Munich-Lindau. From Kempten a single-track, non-electrified railway runs through Pfronten to Austria - the border crossing is located between Pfronten-Steinach and Schönbichl. the railway leads to Reutte and Ehrwald, then back to Germany, where it joins the Karwendel line in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
Pfronten-Ried
The community Pfronten consists of several villages. Some of them for example: Steinach, Dorf, Ösch, Ried, Heitlern, Berg, Weißbach ... The train stops in Weißbach, Ried and Steinach.
