Encounter of two class 2000 trainsets
This beautiful viaduct is being doubled with a double-track steel bridge on its eastern side. Obviously it is cheaper this way, than to build the new viaduct in the same style like the old one.
The junction of the lines 10 and 30 (Luxembourg-Oetrange-Wasserbillig) is located at the north end (on the pictures to the right). With the second viaduct this junction will disappear, and both double-track lines will run parallel to the main station.
An express train, coming from Belgium crosses the Clausen viaduct - hauled by a class 3000 electric locomotive of CFL.
Another train - again with a class 300 loco - runs in the opposite direction in the Clausen viaduct...
...and continues on the Pfaffenthal viaduct.
