The Subcarpathia Express is a special train, which ran between the 19th and 20th March 2010 for the first time. The tour started on Budapest-Nyugati station, and after roaming through the standard gauge railway lines of Ukraine, the train returned to Hungary via Romania. Originally the rebuilt Nohab loco 2761 017 (which is 120 km/h fast, and possesses a generator for electric train) was planned for hauling this train, but because of a technical problem, in the last moment they had to choose another locomotive, the M61 001.
