H5 Szentendrei HÉV (BKV)
Szentendre – Budapest-Batthyány tér
The standard gauge railway of the Open Air Museum Szentendre was opened on 8 April 2009. It is operated by MÁV Nosztalgia Ltd. The ride on the 2115 m long track comprises 6 stops (2 of them are switchbacks) and lasts almost half an hour at a maximum speed of 15 km/h. Two renewed class BCmot diesel motor cars are in service on the line. In order to make the low speed and the steep sections (the highest inclination is 34 per thousand!) tolerable for the motor cars, both vehicles got a new transmission.
Vasútállomás (Railway station)
The reception building evokes the station building of Mezőhegyes. Motor car BCmot 468 is resting behind the MÁV-standard concrete fence (type H).
The BCmot 422 and the 468 at the terminus. The 422 arrived recently. The passengers are still getting off.
Kovácsműhely (Forge)
At Pentecost Sunday both motor cars arrive coupled at Kovácsműhely station stop. After reversing they proceed towards Sztaravoda-patak.
The train passes the bakery of the "market town in the Great Hungarian Plain", and continues towards Kovácsműhely (Forge) switchback.
Houses, churches and festivities
The train passes the windmill of Dusnok.
Sztaravoda-patak (Sztaravoda Creek)
The train is descending under the canopy of Robinia flowers to Sztaravoda-patak switchback.
